LIBERIA FOR UN SECURITY COUNCIL

As an Alumni of the MUN-Liberia, formerly representative of Niger at such occasions as a non-permanent member of the UNSC in 2020, I wholeheartedly support Liberia's bid for a non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council. For as much as I know, 1. Liberia has a history of civil war and has committed itself to maintaining internal peace and security, something we have enjoyed since 2003. This experience as a nation has shifted our attention from conflict and promoting national, regional, and global peace. Secondly, our nation has made efforts to maintain regional stability: we have played a significant role in promoting stability in the West African region. As a member of the ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States), we have contributed to regional peacekeeping efforts and have been a key player in conflict resolution initiatives in the region, most recently in Mali. 3.
